Last Rites #BlogchatterA2Z

I lay with a fixed gaze

Oblivious to the chatter around

Body all motionless

All ears to my inner sound

Memories of my yesteryear

is all that interests me now

a smirk on my naughty lips

with the eternal trademark bow

I realize I am short on time

for people don’t leave my side

Attention I am not used to my friend

In my solace I seek pride

Memories good and bad

and some troubled times

I can’t see her around

The one who always completed my rhymes

They all stare at me with pity

Unknown to the spirit inside

I have lived my days of glory

but let’s leave that aside

Once again I’ll be off

to a journey of my choice

But before I leave this chaos

Let me enjoy my Last Rites.

I am a nomad at heart who craves for journeys and experiences. Life is too short to stop exploring and the quest to be happy should go on.

  1. That is a sombre poem. Why so much apathy for life and surroundings? No one knows if all the things we want to leave behind, will not be there in other place? Because if there is mind, there will be complication.

I would love to hear from you :)
