In the shadows of my past

Dwelling with the memories

Good or bad, I am not sure

They keep me company

Some days are reminiscent

of the times I lived in the spirit

Others, I just drag on

Unsure of what lies ahead

Fears of my destiny

And hardships of choice

Maybe it was accidental

Maybe it’s the price

I am paying for the deeds

As far as I remember

I was an outcast

A champion of my creed

Shame and surrender

Are alien to my soul

On my grave

There will be no tombstone

To recite my tale

The glory I bask in today

Is the shadow I walk with

Still unclear of what lies ahead

I have learned not to crib.
