Superficial Soul

It’s been days now,
since I’ve heard that sound,
And my mind’s so lost,
Wish I could turn around.
The path seems so long,
the footprints all gone,
just some memories left,
and they echo around.
Love I found and lost,
at times,
Things I could never
call mine,
Reality that I’m left
with alone,
Dreams in a whisker
all gone.
The pain seems so sweet
sometimes,
and sometimes, it
pierces through.
The rain never could
wash my sorrows,
all the things I never expected,
Somehow turned out to be true.

I am a nomad at heart who craves for journeys and experiences. Life is too short to stop exploring and the quest to be happy should go on.

  1. Love I found and lost,

I loved these lines …….. everything else is beautiful too …..but these are true beauty

    1. Thank you friend. People usually feel discouraged to read poetry for they are confused about the intent or the message that is delivered. That is mainly either due to vocab or complexity of flow, but I tell them it’s like a photo, everyone sees something different yet meaningful.
You, my friend, have a keen taste and eye both 🙂 .

      1. The most beautiful aspect of poetry is it’s open endedness……. Readers can interpret the same phrases differently and take with them what they desire……. One needs a certain level of creativity to enjoy poetry😝 no offense but it is not for everyone. …… Thank you for saying I have an eye for it …I’d like to return the compliment as the feeling is mutual 😊

      2. 😀 .. the biggest smile I’ve had since morning!
Poets are misers 😛 , they want to say everything with as little words as possible and open hearted when it comes to interpretations of their work 🙂 .

I would love to hear from you :)
